HPC Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and upkeep of InfiniBand and Ethernet network infrastructure.

• Aid in diagnosing network problems, such as connectivity, latency, and performance issues.

• Monitor the health and performance of the network using standard tools and help identify bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with senior engineers while working with InfiniBand technologies (switches, HCAs, subnet managers).

• Support the management and troubleshooting of Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, VPNs, firewall rules).

• Help implement network configurations, routing, and segmentation.

• Work alongside compute and storage teams to assist with HPC and AI workloads.

• Engage in incident response and operational support tasks.

• Contribute to the documentation of network configurations and procedures.

• Acquire knowledge and embrace automation tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, scripting).

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in networking, systems engineering, or infrastructure roles.

• Fundamental understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs).

• Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line utilities.

• Exposure to data center networking or distributed systems settings.

• Strong eagerness to learn and develop expertise in InfiniBand and HPC networking.

• Familiarity with InfiniBand or concepts of high-performance networking.

• Knowledge of Fortinet or similar firewall technologies.

• Basic scripting abilities (e.g., Bash or Python).

• Understanding of monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
