This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of designated staff members.

• Conduct monthly departmental meetings to discuss new procedures and gather feedback from all associates.
• Maintain thorough minutes on file.
• Establish an effective communication network.
• Foster teamwork and boost associate morale.
• Clarify job specifications to Front Desk and Housekeeping staff and delegate responsibilities.
• Analyze and address work-related issues or support associates in resolving them.
• Propose or implement strategies to motivate staff towards achieving work-related goals.
• Complete daily cash counts, manage change orders, make daily deposits, and oversee Front Desk and Housekeeping Inventory Systems.
• Prepare weekly schedules; coordinate personnel scheduling among departments as required; input weekly payroll; prepare weekly progress reports and reconcile with budget.
• Maintain records of purchases and process invoices; responsible for the input, coding, and filing of invoices.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable.
• Optimize unit room revenue through effective utilization of sales options, ensuring the right balance and mix of rooms, and maximizing room sales for revenue enhancement.
• Monitor sales volume fluctuations and trends for both short-term and long-term forecasting.
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained according to service standards and that outages are reported and resolved promptly.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions, including promotions, reviews, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures.
• Comply with wage scales established for the property.
• Be informed about associate benefits procedures and their administration.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in house accounts and direct bills; handle rebates and chargebacks.
• Supervise and reconcile cash controls for each shift.
• Ensure compliance with all credit policies and resolve the credit report daily.
• Develop purchasing and production needs based on daily inventories and order lead times.
• Achieve or exceed the hotel's sales and profit targets.
• Keep costs at or below budget percentages and manage controllable costs below budget.
• Ensure labor staffing guidelines are efficiently implemented and followed by departments.
• Supervisory duties include managing subordinate supervisors or associates, such as interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints, and resolving issues.
• This role involves supervising staff.
• Additional duties pertinent to the success of the department or unit may also be assigned.
• A minimum of two years of post-secondary education in hotel management, business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated management experience, including at least two years of supervising more than ten employees.
• Proven expertise in managing, planning, and organizing the activities within the assigned area, with the ability to address technical matters effectively.
• Must have experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
• A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years are required to meet NMS’ vehicle insurance policy criteria.
