Hospice Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice care, palliative support, quality-of-life assistance, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services.

• Independently travel to scheduled appointments within the designated service area.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical evaluations, administer medications, provide sedation, perform euthanasia, and execute other veterinary procedures.

• Educate and support pet families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, euthanasia, and aftercare services.

• Keep precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Communicate effectively with pet families, veterinary teams, scheduling personnel, support staff, and referring veterinarians.

• Safely manage, position, and assist in the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold clinical independence, sound medical judgment, professionalism, and dependability while working in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Possess, or be eligible to obtain, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.

• Valid U.S. driver's license.

• Capability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism during pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life discussions.

• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds.

• Ability to perform physical and logistical tasks in diverse residential settings.

• Successful completion of relevant background and motor vehicle record checks post-hire and before the scheduled start date.
