Hospice Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services within the designated service area.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care setting.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services.

• Educate and support pet families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, euthanasia, and aftercare.

• Maintain precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Communicate effectively with pet families, veterinary medical teams, scheduling, support, and referring veterinarians.

• Safely handle, position, and assist with the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold clinical independence, sound medical judgment, reliability, and professionalism while working in the field.

• Exhibit compassion, dignity, and respect in interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and veterinary partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Possess, or be eligible to acquire, an active veterinary license in the states where services will be provided.

• Valid U.S. driver's license required.

• Ability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Capacity to communicate with empathy and professionalism during pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life discussions.

• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.

• Ability to meet physical and logistical requirements in diverse residential environments.

• Successful completion of relevant background and motor vehicle record checks post-hire and prior to the scheduled start date.
