This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver targeted course content in an online setting.
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey tailored to students’ unique needs.
• Track student progress utilizing K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate with students and parents to enhance learning and formulate as well as monitor post-secondary success plans through online resources.
• Implement the K12 curriculum, Online School, and adhere to state, Common Core, and industry-specific educational standards.
• Assist students and parents with placement, online school setup, curriculum, and instructional challenges.
• Design instructional tools and strategies to complement and improve the provided curriculum.
• Regularly communicate with students via email or phone and address inquiries from students and parents.
• Engage in weekly teacher conference calls and attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Maintain academic progress records, generate reports, notify administrators of concerns, process placement changes, and complete progress documentation.
• Organize orientation, training sessions, social events, and educational activities for students and their families.
• Create a monthly newsletter or update the website.
• Travel to assigned regions to participate in open houses, expos, information sessions, orientations, and student/parent meetings.
• Prepare students for state assessments, supervise site-based exams, administer state assessments, and evaluate students according to policy.
• State-certified teacher and/or alternatively certified CTE teacher.
• Relevant business, office education, business and finance, business education, marketing, marketing education, or health science education certification/license.
• Residency in Texas is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree and three years of successful teaching experience in a virtual environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Capability to pass required background checks.
• Strong expertise in content and subject matter.
• Ability to support and mentor both adults and students.
• Familiarity with databases utilized by K12.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and web applications.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student assessments, and/or school obligations.
• Base salary set at $49,000.
