This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Certified High School ELA Teachers will manage instructional programs virtually, working from either the office or home.
• Regularly consult with Learning Coaches and students to ensure successful completion of each child's instructional program.
• Enhance the instructional program with both asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
• Timely completion of all grading, creation of progress reports, and conducting of parent conferences.
• Maintain consistent communication with parents, students, and fellow teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback on assignments, recommend instructional methodologies, track assignment completion, and guide special projects.
• Acquire a general understanding of the program’s curriculum alongside a detailed knowledge of the specific courses for which you are responsible.
• Evaluate the curriculum and create alternative methods for lesson presentation to enhance student comprehension.
• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and offer additional support for daily assignments and projects.
• Keep student records and data updated.
• Collaborate with other teachers, team members, and staff to create alternate enrichment activities and modifications to student programs.
• Participate in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed.
• Attend field trips and other community activities organized for families.
• Must be qualified and certified to teach English Language Arts in Michigan.
• Preference for Michigan residency.
• Strong technology proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and punctual.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
• Required to travel and attend in-person events, including State Testing, throughout the school year as determined by the school, which may include overnight travel.
• Availability to work occasional evening hours to support some families as needed.
