This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze contracts between hospitals and insurance providers, model claims data, and pinpoint missed revenue.
• Reach out to the responsible party regarding claim payments.
• Draft and send claim appeal letters accompanied by supporting documentation to contest denials.
• Build strong working relationships with personnel at insurance companies.
• Collaborate with teammates and leadership to identify and discuss trends.
• Engage with insurance companies through phone, email, and written appeals to recover funds.
• Analyze large data sets to detect trends in underpayment and denial.
• Research current laws and regulations related to hospital reimbursement methodologies.
• Assist in creating client presentations and weekly reports to monitor project goals and present findings to leadership.
• Aim to maintain a personal hourly rate by efficiently meeting project metrics and objectives.
• Participate in Privacy and Security Training as mandated by the HIPAA Awareness Program, ensuring compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures to protect sensitive or confidential information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize competing tasks.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Excel, ranging from basic to advanced knowledge.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Possesses analytical skills and financial insight.
• Must have a private and dedicated workspace to ensure confidentiality.
• Familiarity with health insurance, EHRs, EMRs, and claims processing.
• An undergraduate degree or internship in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare operations is advantageous.
• Understanding of auditing and reporting tools, such as SQL.
• Presentation skills and experience in client relations are a plus.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Revenue Cycle or Healthcare Claims is preferred.
