This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver professional communication and editorial assistance to OPHDST program managers and staff for multimedia communication materials.
• Develop strategies for stakeholder engagement that align with public health data modernization goals.
• Create comprehensive strategic communication plans that encompass stakeholders, audiences, channels, messaging, materials, timelines, and success metrics.
• Produce and distribute both internal and external communication materials.
• Facilitate external communications with partners, state and local health departments, and academic institutions through various materials, web updates, and other platforms.
• Coordinate the gathering of requirements and the development of knowledge management tools and mechanisms.
• Conduct assessments of stakeholders and analyze program needs.
• Provide consultation on communications strategies, planning, message development, promotion, and dissemination.
• Formulate a digital content strategy to enhance visibility across both traditional and emerging platforms, including AI engines.
• 3–5 years of pertinent experience in health communications.
• Proficient in writing, developing, editing, and distributing multimedia communication materials.
• Experience in creating communication products such as brochures, presentations, training materials, Q&A documents, key messages, and reports.
• Preferred experience with federal government communications best practices, including Section 508 compliance, Digital First initiatives, branding, logo requirements, and adherence to government standards.
• Strongly desired prior experience collaborating with public health agencies, CDC staff and partners, as well as personnel from state, tribal, local, or territorial health agencies.
• Ability to condense and clarify information into essential points and write in accessible language.
• Experience in developing strategic communication plans and monitoring and evaluating activities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capable of working within a multidisciplinary team and meeting tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Eligible to obtain government clearance.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, advertising, public relations, English, public health, or a related field is required.
• Ability to spend extended periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
• May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
