Head of Trading Execution – Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete execution of physical and derivative hedging (metal & FX) for the non-ferrous base metals traded by Metycle.

• Develop the execution model (including pricing, hedging, invoicing, and cost management), establish the risk control and reporting framework, and build a scalable team.

• Guide, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of the operations team.

• Create and manage the comprehensive SOP library and control framework.

• Oversee the entire movement of cargo from origin to transit, port, and final destination.

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation throughout the supply chain.

• Manage live metal and FX exposures, executing hedges with brokers in accordance with company policy.

• Handle customer and supplier invoicing from provisional to final stages, including payment scheduling.

• Administer end-to-end claims as a managed P&L line.

• Collaborate with the product team to automate the operational model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in commodity trading execution, preferably in metal, at reputable trading houses.

• Strong understanding of fixed/formula pricing, hedging, MTM, month-end close processes, exposure and P&L/cash-flow monitoring, Incoterms, and transportation documentation.

• Familiarity with trade-finance instruments such as CAD, Letters of Credit, and inventory financing.

• Excellent proficiency in English; strong interest in emerging technologies, including AI-driven automation.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%, including visits to supplier yards, ports, lender meetings, and group offsites.

• Valid work/residence permit for the relevant country/EU.
