• Achieve the Alpha Scientific commercial testing sales revenue budget by strategically acquiring clients and expanding accounts, thereby unlocking new market opportunities across essential sectors.
• Forge effective, long-lasting partnerships with Water Treatment companies, Commissioning firms, Healthcare organisations, Councils, and other pivotal stakeholders in the Water Hygiene Market.
• Discover new customer, market, and service opportunities, collaborating with the Marketing team to develop and implement strategies.
• Formulate the sales strategy and execute tactical sales plans that align with business objectives.
• Take the lead on major bids, tenders, and commercial negotiations.
• Foster continuous improvement in our pricing structure and tools in collaboration with the Finance Director.
• Educate the market on the benefits of Alpha’s solutions to enhance the overall category and promote cross-selling of Genuit products.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with key industry figures to elevate Alpha Scientific’s profile within the Water Treatment and Water Hygiene sectors.
• Advocate for the evolution of UK regulations, guidance, and industry best practices.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Business Development Managers to stimulate demand generation.
• Meet sales and financial objectives, including forecasting requirements, tracking performance against KPIs, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Champion customer feedback to ensure that Alpha’s services evolve in line with market needs.
• Collaborate with laboratories and business leaders to enhance the service offering and consistently improve service delivery.
• Assist in diversifying the division’s current analytical offerings by identifying client demand areas, including the development of the drop-off and collection network as necessary.
• Maintain and grow the customer base by coaching the team, nurturing relationships with key clients, and identifying new opportunities.
• Work closely with laboratories to ensure a smooth transition of accounts into the Alpha Scientific business.
• Represent and promote the Alpha brand and culture while upholding the company’s core values.
• Achieve the targeted Sales Growth and profitability goals established by the business.
• Deliver presentations professionally, confidently, and effectively to prospective customers, promoting Alpha’s services and brand values.
• Manage time effectively by organizing appointments in advance to maximize productivity and utilize time efficiently.
• Ensure effective CRM utilization, reporting, and pipeline management.
• Attend events, with evening and weekend work required.
• Be an active contributor to the Alpha Management Team by attending all required Sales and Management Meetings.
• Complete necessary reporting to the business promptly and with detailed accuracy.
• Ensure all team members adhere to company procedures.
• Demonstrated success in business development and consistently exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
• Proven track record of delivering against KPIs, forecasting, and achieving revenue growth.
• Experience interacting with diverse individuals in a customer care environment.
• Successful history of building and maintaining customer relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in all Office 365 applications.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods for chemistry and microbiology, with prior experience in selling analytical services.
