Head of Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the Firm’s risk function from start to finish.

• Develop, implement, and uphold a comprehensive risk framework across all operations.

• Collaborate with the COO and CIO to design the firm’s risk architecture, focusing on data, analytics, and real-time risk aggregation.

• Supervise risk management across trading, treasury, and investments, including both CeFi and DeFi exposures.

• Establish risk appetite and introduce advanced risk metrics.

• Create and sustain a quantitative risk framework that encompasses market, credit, liquidity, and systemic risk modeling.

• Execute the Firm-wide risk management system, integrating data architecture, risk aggregation, real-time monitoring, and reporting infrastructures.

• Develop a comprehensive risk perspective across centralized and decentralized platforms.

• Define and implement metrics such as VaR, Expected Shortfall, stress scenarios, liquidity-adjusted risk, and concentration risk.

• Adapt traditional financial risk methodologies for crypto-native environments.

• Report directly to the COO in a role focused on establishing a quantitative risk management system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in quantitative risk management.

• Capability to employ rigorous methodologies in complex, real-time markets spanning traditional finance and digital assets.

• Solid grounding in quantitative risk management, with practical experience in market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk modeling.

• Experience with tail risk estimation, scenario analysis, stress testing frameworks, and dependence modeling across various asset classes.

• Proven track record in designing or co-designing enterprise-wide risk systems.

• Experience collaborating closely with technology and operations teams to translate risk requirements into scalable infrastructure.

• Background at the junction of traditional financial markets and digital assets, including CeFi and/or DeFi.

• Knowledge of exchange/custodian risk, smart contract risk, protocol risk, funding/basis dynamics, and collateral management.

• Strong drive and initiative to constantly enhance risk management practices.

• Enthusiasm for crypto, a commercial outlook, proactive ownership, and pragmatic flexibility.
