Head of Marketplace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Formulate the marketplace strategy across various channels, countries, and product lines.

• Take ownership of revenue, contribution margin, and advertising budgets for all marketplaces.

• Enhance the presence on Amazon, Otto, and Decathlon, while also venturing into new marketplaces and regions.

• Lead and expand the Marketplace team.

• Collaborate with Content, Design, Product Development, and Logistics teams.

• Ensure that listings, launches, and inventory are in accordance with the overall strategy.

• Assist in planning product launches and marketplace growth.

• Act as the primary contact for Amazon, Otto, Decathlon, agencies, and service providers.

• Negotiate commercial agreements.

• Report directly to the Founder and CEO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in marketplace operations, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.

• Background in an e-commerce startup or scale-up with revenues in the eight-figure range or higher.

• Proven success in developing a marketplace business.

• In-depth knowledge of Amazon: Seller Central, Advertising, Brand Registry, and Pan-EU.

• Familiarity with Otto and Decathlon as marketplaces; experience working with them is preferred.

• Experience with international market expansion.

• Strong numerical acumen, including understanding of margin, contribution margin, and inventory turnover.

• Leadership experience, preferably involving remote team management.

• Background in the consumer goods sector; experience in sports or fitness is an added advantage.

• Proficiency in German and fluent, negotiation-level English.
