• Develop and enhance the firm's marketing strategy targeting both retail investors and professional advisors/RIA audiences, translating business objectives into actionable initiatives with defined timelines and KPIs.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar that encompasses campaigns, email distributions, collateral deadlines, advisor calls, and compliance review timelines — proactively briefing distribution teams prior to investor communications.
• Identify and initiate marketing partnerships with distribution partners, content platforms, and listing exchanges.
• Manage a thorough multi-channel program that includes email, digital advertising, social media, webinars, events, pitchbooks, and content marketing.
• Organize conferences, industry events, and quarterly advisor calls — overseeing logistics, messaging, and materials.
• Supervise PR activities with external agency partners; support podcast initiatives and direct response programs aimed at retail investors.
• Oversee the entire collateral workflow — from briefing through design, copywriting, legal and compliance review, submission to Red Oak, and distribution.
• Act as the firm's quality control gatekeeper: review all materials with meticulous attention to data accuracy, language consistency, and regulatory compliance prior to publication.
• Manage the automated collateral production process; uphold a version-controlled collateral library; oversee the Morgan Stanley 4U platform.
• Publish fund data quarterly to eVestment, Wilshire, and other distribution databases; ensure the firm's website remains accurate and up-to-date.
• Confirm that advisor call recordings are pre-approved, reviewed, and made available on the website without compliance issues.
• Integrate legal and compliance review timelines into every production schedule; manage records retention processes in line with firm and regulatory standards.
• Exhibit a working knowledge of SEC/FINRA advertising regulations applicable to registered investment advisers and ETF products.
• Manage the marketing budget — monitoring expenditures across channels, vendors, and campaigns to ensure adherence to the annual plan.
• Oversee contracts for agencies, freelancers, and platforms; negotiate vendor agreements to maximize value while proactively identifying budget risks or overages.
• Prepare budget reports and reconciliations for leadership, providing clear visibility into committed spending, actuals, and remaining capacity.
• Manage designers, copywriters, and agency partners; advise on whether to build in-house or outsource as the program expands.
• Track marketing KPIs using HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar tools; communicate performance insights to leadership.
• Proficiency in AI tools is an essential expectation of this role. The Head of Marketing is required to utilize AI tools to enhance team output and exercise sound editorial judgment before any AI-generated content is shared with investors or undergoes compliance review.
• Utilize AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Jasper) to expedite drafts for marketing copy, emails, commentary, pitchbooks, and social media content.
• Streamline repetitive production tasks — such as collateral updates, data population, and distribution management — through AI-assisted workflows.
• Assess and recommend AI platforms that boost the team's efficiency across content creation, campaign management, and analytics.
• Apply strict editorial judgment to all AI-generated content — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and brand consistency are upheld before publication.
• Establish internal guidelines for the use of AI in marketing, in collaboration with legal and compliance; stay informed on SEC/FINRA implications.
• Proactively update leadership on emerging AI tools, risks, and competitive developments relevant to ETF marketing.
• 6–10 years of experience in financial services marketing, with significant exposure to ETF or investment management.
• Profound understanding of retail investor and advisor/RIA audiences along with the regulated marketing landscape.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in multi-channel campaign management; strong project management and prioritization abilities.
• Exceptional written communication skills and a keen attention to detail; low ego, high accountability.
