This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.
• Identify and address legal risks associated with the company's business operations.
• Evaluate and manage legal risks related to contracts, intellectual property, employment, litigation, and other areas of possible legal exposure.
• Ensure the international holding company adheres to all pertinent laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards in every jurisdiction it operates in.
• Develop and implement strategies to safeguard the company's intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Monitor and respond to any potential infringements of these rights.
• Create and execute a legal strategy for the international holding company that aligns with its long-term goals and objectives, including the establishment of new entities while mitigating legal risks.
• Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements, coordinate external audits, and collaborate with legal and internal compliance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Over 5 years of experience in a CLO/VP Legal role within international companies.
• Proficiency in English at C1+ level (preferably bilingual with fluency in Russian).
• Legal Management: Comprehensive understanding of various legal fields, including business law, contract law, employment law, intellectual property law, and other relevant areas.
• Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with industry regulations and laws impacting the organization's operations to ensure compliance and reduce risks.
• Litigation Management: Capability to handle legal disputes and litigation processes, collaborating closely with external legal counsel as needed.
• Risk Management: Competence in identifying legal risks, devising strategies to manage them, and implementing preventive measures.
• Technology Aptitude: Experience with financial software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analytics tools.
