Head of Finance – Russian Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the preparation and accuracy of the P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet.

• Ensure the monthly close occurs on schedule and that reporting packages are consistent, reconciled, and accessible for management.

• Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting for bikes, batteries, and spare parts.

• Enhance and uphold capitalization and depreciation policies.

• Oversee the fixed asset register, including disposals, write-offs, and reconciliations between inventory and the general ledger.

• Maintain the financial model to support internal planning.

• Collaborate with department heads to create annual and quarterly budgets.

• Monitor actual performance against the plan and report variances along with recommended corrective actions.

• Develop the financial control function, incorporating approval procedures, spend controls, segregation of duties, and oversight of cash, receivables, and payables.

• Manage in-house accountants as well as the outsourced accounting firm.

• Supervise payroll, multi-state tax registrations and filings, statutory reporting, and preparation for audits.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and payment processing.

• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and product teams on pricing adjustments, new city launches, vendor contracts, warehouse and inventory processes, and changes to payment systems.

• Identify and manage financial and accounting implications of cross-functional projects during the design phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance, having led a full monthly close as a Controller, Head of Finance, or in a similar role.

• Proven experience in the US market.

• Background in inventory and fixed asset accounting within a physical business environment.

• Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance.

• Proven track record in managing accounting personnel and outsourced service providers.

• Ability to build processes rather than merely maintaining existing ones.

• Strong systems capabilities, including experience with accounting system implementation or migration.

• Proficiency in Russian.
