Head of Finance, Russian Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• **Responsibilities**

• Take charge of the preparation and precision of the P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet.

• Execute the monthly close on time and ensure that the reporting package is consistent, reconciled, and useful for management.

• Oversee the recording and representation of inventory and fixed assets in the financial statements.

• Enhance and manage the capitalization and depreciation policies for bikes, batteries, and spare parts.

• Administer the fixed asset register, accounting for disposals and write-offs, and reconcile operational inventory records with the general ledger.

• Collaborate with department heads to construct the annual and quarterly budgets, monitor actual performance against the plan, and report variances along with suggested corrective measures.

• Establish the financial control function, including approval and authorization procedures, spending controls, segregation of duties, and regular oversight of cash, receivables, and payables.

• Supervise in-house accountants and the outsourced accounting firm, clearly defining the division of responsibilities and ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and quality standards.

• Manage payroll, multi-state tax registrations and filings, statutory reporting, and ensure audit readiness.

• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and payment processing operations.

• Collaborate directly with operations, supply chain, and product teams on projects such as pricing adjustments, new city launches, vendor contracts, warehouse and inventory processes, and changes to payment systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a background in managing a complete monthly close as a Controller, Head of Finance, or similar role.

• Proven experience in the US market.

• Knowledge of inventory and fixed asset accounting within a physical business environment.

• Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance.

• Proven track record in managing accounting personnel and outsourced service providers.

• Experience in a company where processes were required to be developed rather than simply maintained.

• Strong skills in systems, including the implementation or migration of accounting systems.
