Head of Finance – Custody

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Take ownership of delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual management and financial accounts for the VARA VASP entity.

• Prepare and submit regulatory reporting packs for VARA.

• Develop forecasts and budgets for the local entity.

• Lead the local entity's participation in the statutory audit process.

• Create and uphold the control environment within the finance function.

• Oversee, manage, and report on the protection of client funds and virtual assets.

• Manage the daily reconciliation of client virtual assets and client funds.

• Ensure timely placement of client funds.

• Implement controls to prevent rehypothecation of custody assets.

• Develop, coordinate, and sustain the procedures for safeguarding client assets and custody.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with extensive relevant experience in the financial services sector.

• Proven experience in safeguarding, custody, or environments focused on client asset/client money control.

• Familiarity with VARA's rulebook structure.

• Demonstrated experience in a Group reporting position that emphasizes financial accounts and external/regulatory reporting.

• Knowledge of key accounting principles under IFRS and/or US GAAP.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication abilities.

• Strong leadership capabilities.

• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
