This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take responsibility for the technical, solution, and competitive strategy within Benchling's Enterprise Solution Consulting R&D division in EMEA.
• Oversee Enterprise Solution Consultants - R&D as individual contributors.
• Enhance revenue by establishing and upholding engagement quality standards across Strategic, SMB, and Enterprise segments.
• Align engagements with client requirements, showcase value, and achieve technical victories.
• Define the technical sales process standards, which include pipeline generation, development of the 3 Why's, champion building, MEDDICC, and planning and executing Proof of Value.
• Ensure uniform application of sales standards across all segments.
• Evaluate engagement quality for individual contributors within the Enterprise sector.
• Guide Proof of Value strategies and solutions using expertise in deal strategy and closing plans.
• Track deal activity throughout the organization and reallocate resources to facilitate successful customer engagements.
• Enhance the sales skills, presentation and demo capabilities, product knowledge, and champion-building relationships of direct reports.
• Recruit and maintain a high-performance team.
• Manage hiring processes, career discussions, individual development plans, and goal-setting for team members.
• Foster cultural engagement within the Enterprise SC-RD organization.
• Cultivate champions within Enterprise accounts and sustain relationships with Executive Buyers and key stakeholders involved in large or complex deals.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience managing presales software (SaaS) solution consulting teams.
• Demonstrated success working with life science companies.
• Familiarity with biotech R&D processes and scientific concepts.
• Ability to confidently engage and build trust with VP and C-Level scientific and research leaders in rapidly growing biotech firms.
• Extensive knowledge of scientific software solutions and their applications in a scientific context.
• Experience leading fast-paced sales cycles that involve innovative scientific R&D models, significant growth potential, and complex underlying needs.
• Background as an individual contributor in presales, responsible for the technical sale.
• Proven success in selling to large global accounts.
• Recent experience in a leadership position.
• An undergraduate degree and/or advanced degrees in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related life science discipline.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites 25–30% of the time.
• Familiarity with MEDDIC sales methodology is advantageous but not mandatory.
• AI-focused exercise or discussion during the interview process to evaluate how candidates utilize AI.
