Head of Engineering Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop, organize, and expand Virtuos’ Engineering Solutions as an independent business unit.

• Take ownership of the comprehensive development of a client-oriented engineering services enterprise.

• Establish the service strategy, framework, strategic roadmap, objectives, performance indicators, and growth aspirations.

• Recognize market opportunities and client needs to create a distinct engineering services position.

• Create and enhance the service catalog, engagement models, and pricing strategies.

• Implement a talent strategy that integrates internal identification, external recruitment, and potential acquisitions.

• Organize capability clusters, leadership, and scalable staffing approaches.

• Formulate and execute scalable growth strategies across various regions and studios.

• Collaborate with Business Development teams, assist in key client engagements, contribute to strategic proposals, and cultivate a diverse client portfolio.

• Establish delivery models, governance structures, and performance metrics.

• Promote scalability, utilization, profitability, and consistent high-quality execution across engineering projects.

• Report directly to the COO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the video game sector.

• Substantial exposure to engineering services, outsourcing, or scalable development models.

• Proven track record in building or scaling a business unit, service line, or division.

• Strong expertise in game engineering, technical production, or large-scale development environments.

• In-depth understanding of client requirements, commercial models, and dynamics in the game development market.

• Experience in structuring and leading distributed, multi-studio teams across various regions.

• Capability to define value propositions, create service offerings, and enhance revenue growth.

• Strong operational leadership with experience in implementing scalable delivery and governance frameworks.

• Solid business and financial acumen, encompassing growth, utilization, and profitability.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities for executive and client-facing interactions.

• Proficient in navigating ambiguity and leading transformation from initial definition to global scale.
