This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and expand a geographically distributed product engineering team, cultivating a culture of craftsmanship, psychological safety, and ongoing enhancement.
• Take ownership of engineering quality standards—overseeing code review practices, testing philosophies, documentation expectations, and team perceptions of technical debt.
• Drive architectural advancements in collaboration with technical leads, including the continuous modernization of our platform and integrations with AdvanceMD EHR, Salesforce, and third-party insurance and credentialing systems.
• Manage site reliability: incident response, on-call framework, observability tools (Datadog), and the broader Site Reliability Engineering function as it matures.
• Influence how our engineering team embraces agentic coding tools—setting the tone, establishing guardrails, and crafting internal practices that position AI-assisted development as a true accelerant.
• Collaborate with Product and Design leadership to shape how work is scoped, sequenced, and executed—ensuring that the engineering perspective is integrated into the planning phase, not solely during delivery.
• Oversee the entire engineering hiring process: defining roles, assessing candidates, and assembling a team that elevates the collective standard.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional leadership discussions, translating technical contexts into business impacts and vice versa.
• Foster and sustain a healthy, high-trust relationship with your team—creating an environment where engineers can achieve the best work of their careers.
• Over 8 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 4 years in leadership roles within engineering.
• Proven track record of successfully leading distributed engineering teams, encompassing hiring, development, and culture-building.
• Practical experience with modern web application architectures and the discernment to make informed architectural decisions.
• Experience in owning or significantly contributing to site reliability, observability, and incident management practices.
• Strong cross-functional communication abilities—comfortable collaborating with Product, Design, Operations, and executive stakeholders.
• Preferred experience in healthcare technology or another regulated industry where compliance, data privacy, and system reliability are crucial.
• Familiarity with our core technology stack: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, Next.js/React, PostgreSQL.
• Experience leading teams through the successful adoption of impactful AI tooling, especially agentic or LLM-assisted development workflows.
• Background in integrating multiple systems (EHR, CRM, payment processing, insurance verification, or similar).
• Experience in scaling engineering practices within a high-growth organization.
• An incredible team culture
• Comprehensive healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
• 401K plan with a 3% employer match
• Paid time off and holidays
• Additional coverage options available, including Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Group Accident Insurance
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
