This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Oversee the entire data stack from beginning to end.
• Take full responsibility for the function: setting the technical vision, developing our team, managing company metrics, and ensuring that each AIOS leader can make data-driven decisions they trust.
• Transform our current infrastructure into a reliable data operating system for the entire organization.
• Manage the current Analytics Engineering Lead, hire an additional Data Engineer after onboarding, and continue to grow the team as the company expands.
• Ensure the reliability of our data pipelines, models, and dashboards.
• Establish clear standards for staging, intermediate, and mart models.
• Define the process for proposing, designing, reviewing, testing, documenting, deploying, and eventually retiring new models.
• Maintain the speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our warehouse and pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering on source schemas, product events, breaking changes, data contracts, and backfills.
• Begin designing the data foundations necessary to demonstrate the quality, safety, and performance of our clinical and AI systems.
• 5+ years as a hands-on data individual contributor and 3+ years of team leadership experience, including direct management of at least several team members.
• Highly proficient in SQL and dbt.
• Experience in designing and operating a modern data platform that includes ingestion, a cloud warehouse, transformation, reporting, and monitoring.
• Understand the behavior of production data systems beyond the modeling layer.
• Ability to design models that remain clean and comprehensible as the business evolves.
• Skilled in converting ambiguous business objectives into precise metrics.
• Utilize AI extensively in your work and possess strong instincts for enhancing the reliability, context, and usefulness of AI-assisted analysis.
• Set a clear direction and quality standard while allowing talented individuals the flexibility to execute their roles.
• Confidently challenge senior leaders when a KPI is misleading or poorly defined.
• Accept responsibility for achieving the desired outcomes.
