Head of Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Develop and spearhead the Communications Strategy.

• Design and execute a thorough communications strategy focused on engaging key decision-makers such as policymakers, AI researchers, and industry leaders.

• Ensure that messaging is clear, impactful, and consistent across all channels and initiatives.

• Supervise the creation of content, including policy-oriented technical materials and social media strategies.

• Utilize your connections with key journalists and media platforms to achieve high-impact coverage.

• Direct rapid response communications to clarify misconceptions about AI safety.

• Lead, mentor, and grow the communications team.

• Manage the editorial calendar across channels, aligning content with organizational priorities and significant events.

• Oversee FAR.AI’s brand, safeguarding our reputation as a reliable neutral source on AI and enhancing our appeal as an employer and partner.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a communications role, such as public relations, science journalism, or policy communication.

• At least 2 years of experience in managing personnel and specialized teams (preferred).

• Proven record of establishing strategy and vision in communications, branding, or a related area.

• Practical expertise across earned media, branding, and content creation.

• A genuine interest in AI safety and our mission, along with a readiness to learn.

• Exceptional strategic judgment and the capacity to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

• Ability to foster alignment among diverse perspectives and guide them towards a cohesive strategic direction.
