This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish a long-term strategic vision for Revenue and Billing Operations, proactively identifying future business requirements, system limitations, and potential capability gaps before they pose execution risks.
• Create and refine a scalable organizational structure that facilitates sustained growth within a complex, multi-service, multi-entity platform.
• Ensure that the strategy is well-defined, actionable, and embraced by all teams—not solely determined at the executive level.
• Oversee comprehensive, contract-driven billing processes for parcel and fulfillment services.
• Convert intricate client contracts into precise, scalable billing logic and workflows.
• Design and manage client-specific billing configurations and pricing frameworks.
• Balance immediate execution with long-term capability development; outcomes assessed based on sustained accuracy, scalability, and capacity to deliver on a large scale.
• Cultivate a thorough understanding of data flows within WMS, TMS, parcel systems, and billing platforms.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to define, enhance, and automate billing processes and integrations.
• Identify and address root-cause issues in data capture or system design that affect revenue realization.
• Develop scalable processes that minimize manual involvement and enhance auditability.
• Ensure precise revenue recognition in line with relevant accounting standards (ASC 606).
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to facilitate month-end closure, including revenue accruals and reconciliations.
• Provide transparent reporting on revenue, billing accuracy, and margins segmented by client, service line, and activity.
• Shape and take ownership of the AI strategy for the Revenue and Billing function, committing to quantifiable adoption targets.
• Oversee financial performance across the function; balance operational requirements with financial limitations and ensure leaders operate within sanctioned budgets.
• Manage parcel and third-party cost recognition and reporting.
• Conduct margin analysis by client and service offering.
• Communicate revenue insights—risks, trends, and margin impacts—effectively to Finance leadership, the CFO, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of directors and managers—establishing clear performance expectations and actively fostering long-term leadership capabilities within the function.
• Maintain robust internal controls over billing, revenue recognition, and cash application.
• 12–18 years of progressive experience in revenue operations, billing, finance, or related fields—preferably within logistics, 3PL, or high-volume transaction environments.
• Proven experience in designing or transforming a revenue/billing function at scale.
• Strong comprehension of complex billing models (usage-based, contract-driven, multi-service pricing).
• Demonstrated ability to navigate data systems and comprehend underlying data flows (ERP, WMS, TMS, billing platforms).
• Experience collaborating with Engineering or Data teams to develop scalable processes and automation.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606); experience with software revenue is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence Finance leadership, the CFO, and executive stakeholders.
