
Head of AI Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
β’ Oversee the development and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive AI Governance Framework that aligns with Dotmatics' risk appetite, the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and NIST AI RMF.
β’ Maintain a registry of AI use cases, establish risk tiers and oversight levels, and assess AI tools, models, and applications.
β’ Evaluate AI use cases concerning model behavior, data usage, privacy, and operational risk.
β’ Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 27001 ISMS, ISO 9001 QMS, and GxP requirements.
β’ Lead the Dotmatics AI Governance Council and prepare materials for decision-making for the Council and executive review.
β’ Collaborate with the Siemens AI Governance Consortium and contribute to shared frameworks and maturity models.
β’ Provide AI governance responses to customer RFIs, security questionnaires, and due diligence requests.
β’ Integrate governance checkpoints into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with Product and Engineering teams.
β’ Align AI controls with the organization's security posture and incident response protocols.
β’ Develop and maintain AI governance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supporting documentation.
β’ Create and deliver AI governance training across the organization.
β’ Generate management reports, metrics, and dashboards reflecting program status, risk exposure, and control effectiveness.
β’ Foster continuous improvement informed by lessons learned, evolving standards, and regulatory changes.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
β’ 15β20 years of experience in information security, technology risk management, data governance, or compliance within a regulated industry.
β’ 5β8 years of progressive experience specifically in AI/ML governance.
β’ Proven experience in designing or operating AI governance programs, model risk management frameworks, or technology risk management processes.
β’ Extensive understanding of generative AI, large language models, AI agents, and the associated regulatory expectations.
β’ Familiarity with the EU AI Act, GDPR, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001.
β’ Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholder groups without direct line authority.
β’ Experience in managing or contributing to governance councils, steering committees, or similar oversight bodies.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of AI/ML technologies, including large language models, AI-enabled applications, APIs, and data pipelines.
β’ Implementation-level understanding of information security, data privacy controls, and life science compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, ISO 9001, GxP, GDPR, and CCPA.
β’ Strong project management skills and a track record of building programs and processes from the ground up.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-ready materials and governance documentation.
β’ Relevant professional certifications are preferred: AIGP, CIPP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent.
β’ Experience in the Life Sciences (GxP) sector and knowledge of scientific informatics or cheminformatics is a plus.
