This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +1 more state.
β’ Design and implement pipelines for multi-target tracking of both static and dynamic targets.
β’ Develop nonlinear estimators (EKF, UKF, IMM) for determining target states, relative geometries, and passive ranging solutions.
β’ Integrate sensor fusion across various modalities, including EO, IR, and inertial sources, as well as RF where available.
β’ Manage lock-on-after-launch (LOAL) logic, including acquisition, track confirmation, and transitioning into terminal guidance.
β’ Construct image-based ATD/ATR chains that facilitate closed-loop guidance for terminal guidance and seeker algorithms.
β’ Create and assess terminal guidance laws based on miss distance, seeker field-of-view, and control authority limitations.
β’ Enhance endgame performance in realistic conditions.
β’ Develop GPS-denied navigation systems to provide drift-free, absolute positional awareness without relying on GPS.
β’ Characterize, align, and calibrate INS/IMU systems using cost-effective inertial hardware.
β’ Implement georegistration, photogrammetry, and map-matching techniques to limit inertial drift.
β’ Develop modern, object-oriented C++ implementations of all algorithms for real-time software.
β’ Prototype algorithms using Python or MATLAB before transitioning them to flight-quality code.
β’ Validate algorithms through physics-based simulation environments.
β’ Conduct Monte Carlo and hardware-in-the-loop campaigns for performance validation.
β’ Support captive-carry and live flight tests, taking ownership of anomaly investigations when telemetry data conflicts with models.
β’ Provide technical leadership by establishing algorithm architecture and mentoring engineers during implementation.
β’ Engage directly with customers and partners through technical discussions, live demonstrations, and proposals.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
β’ Over 8 years of experience in developing estimation, tracking, GNC, or seeker algorithms for aerospace or defense applications.
β’ Demonstrated expertise in nonlinear estimation methods (EKF, UKF, IMM, or similar).
β’ Proven experience in multi-target tracking, data association, and track management algorithms.
β’ Skilled in real-time C++ programming for embedded systems.
β’ Experience with sensor fusion across various modalities (EO, IR, inertial, RF).
β’ Demonstrated ability to deliver algorithm code to hardware while adhering to SWaP-C constraints.
β’ Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance fully covered by the employer for employees.
β’ Initial provision of three weeks of vacation.
β’ Automatic company contribution to 401K amounting to 5% of earned wages (matching not required).
β’ Opportunities for educational assistance and professional development.
