β’ - **Establish the vision and own the strategy.** Develop a compelling, forward-thinking global vision for circular systems and resource recovery that encompasses the entire reverse value chain β aligned with client trajectories, policy movements, technological advancements, and Anthesis's leadership potential. Define success: which solutions, technologies, and partnerships to amplify, which to nurture, and which to evolve β inspiring the organization to unite behind this vision. Transform that into a multi-year growth strategy with defined milestones, investment priorities, and quantifiable outcomes.
β’ - **Navigate the landscape.** Maintain an in-depth, continually updated understanding of the geopolitical, regulatory, and market dynamics influencing circular systems across different regions β and how these converging forces redefine the expectations of circular systems. Simplify this complexity into clear, actionable strategic choices, engage the right teams to assess the impact, and outline the path forward for client operations.
β’ - **Understand our clients' challenges.** Cultivate a profound, ongoing awareness of the challenges your clients face across various sectors β from infrastructure limitations and material economics to operational complexities and cost pressures β and identify the commercial opportunities embedded within these complexities. Become the partner who anticipates challenges and assists them in staying ahead. Position Anthesis as more than just an advisor: the partner that genuinely comprehends the clients' operational realities and supports their success.
β’ - **Move beyond presentations β build, test, and scale.** We do not merely provide clients with a strategy and depart. Instead, we engage deeply and accompany them throughout the entire process β aiding in innovation, testing, learning, and executing from initial concept to large-scale operation. Design and implement pilots that validate new methods β including reuse systems, reformulated products, new packaging formats, and circular business models β collaborate with specialist teams to develop business cases and ROI models that instill confidence in executives to invest, then assist in operationalizing and scaling effective solutions. Leverage AI, digital tools, and emerging technologies to enhance speed, precision, and cost-efficiency. Scale successful initiatives. Discontinue ineffective ones. **
β’ - **Develop infrastructure and strengthen secondary markets.** Identify and seize opportunities to design and establish regional recovery hubs, reverse supply chain infrastructure, and processing capabilities β including critical minerals recovery from e-waste, industrial, and post-consumer streams. Construct the commercial framework that facilitates the return of recovered materials into manufacturing β including feedstock aggregation, quality standards, off-take agreements, demand signaling, and attribute certification β and foster coalitions connecting producers, processors, municipalities, OEMs, and end-markets into effective circular supply chains. Enhance Anthesis's expertise in material and asset valorization: maximizing residual value at the end of commercial use and guiding clients in decisions regarding reuse, remanufacturing, and recovery based on accurate economic data.
β’ - **Drive business growth.** Take ownership of revenue targets, pipeline management, and forecasting for the portfolio β and achieve substantial growth. Transition the model from purely advisory services to digitally enabled managed services, embedded operations, pilot programs, and recurring revenue streams. Innovate pricing strategies β value-based, outcome-linked, reflecting the tangible impact of the work. Strengthen the value proposition. Enhance profit margins.
β’ - **Foster connections within the organization.** Collaborate across Anthesis business lines, geographies, and sector teams to unlock client value that would not be possible in isolation. Identify adjacent opportunities: when discussions about resource recovery reveal a product design question, regulatory need, or supply chain opportunity, connect the client to the appropriate capability β including your counterpart's portfolio. Partner with other Growth Portfolio Leads and senior leadership on overarching strategy, AI initiatives, and go-to-market approaches.
β’ - **Build and lead a high-performing team.** Guide a diverse group of senior technical experts β with strong opinions and varying working styles β and unify them around a common vision without relying solely on hierarchy. Enhance the team's substantial technical expertise by incorporating commercial and emerging tech capabilities as the practice expands, ensuring that every new addition raises the team's standard. Lead through change with clarity, empathy, and respect β making difficult decisions when necessary and bringing people along with you.
β’ - **Represent Anthesis at the highest level.** Serve as the senior external representative of Anthesis's circular systems and resource recovery capabilities β at industry gatherings, policy discussions, coalition meetings, and client boardrooms. Cultivate trusted relationships that make you the first point of contact when significant strategic decisions are made. Elevate discussions beyond immediate concerns, encouraging clients to think broader than they might on their own.
β’ **Technical Scope & Domains**
β’ **This is a highly technical leadership role necessitating fluency to engage with waste engineers, municipal planners, supply chain directors, and CFOs.**
β’ **10+ years in sustainability consulting or industry, with substantial domain expertise.**
β’ - Background in professional services/consulting (with an understanding of utilization, margins, and practice growth).
β’ - Established industry network providing immediate credibility and access to opportunities.
β’ - Masterβs degree or MBA preferred.
β’ - **Languages:** Fluent English is required; proficiency in an additional European language is preferred.
β’ - **Global Flexibility:** Willingness to travel for client and leadership engagements.
