Growth Portfolio Lead

Posted 2 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Establish the vision and take ownership of the strategy. Develop an inspiring global vision for circular systems and resource recovery that encompasses the entire reverse value chain — informed by client trajectories, evolving policies, advancing technologies, and Anthesis's leadership potential. Define success: identify which solutions, technologies, and partnerships to scale, incubate, or refine — and galvanize the organization around this vision. Convert that into a multi-year growth strategy with specific milestones, investment priorities, and quantifiable results.

• Understand the landscape. Maintain a comprehensive and continually updated awareness of the geopolitical, regulatory, and market dynamics influencing circular systems across different regions — and recognize how these converging factors alter the requirements of circular systems. Simplify this complexity into clear, actionable strategic alternatives, engage the appropriate teams to evaluate the impact, and outline the path forward for client operations.

• Grasp the client's environment. Cultivate a thorough and ongoing comprehension of the challenges faced by clients across various sectors — including infrastructure limitations, material economics, operational intricacies, and cost constraints — as well as the commercial prospects hidden within that complexity. Become the partner who anticipates future developments and aids clients in staying ahead. Position Anthesis as more than just a consultant: the partner that truly comprehends the client's operational landscape and assists them in achieving success.

• Move beyond presentations — create, test, and scale. We don’t simply provide clients with a strategy and leave. We engage deeply, helping them innovate, test, learn, and implement, from initial concept to large-scale operations. Design and execute pilot projects that validate new methods — including reuse systems, reformulated products, new packaging solutions, and circular business models — collaborate with specialized teams to develop business cases and ROI models that instill confidence in executives to invest, then assist in operationalizing and scaling successful initiatives. Utilize AI, digital tools, and emerging technologies to deliver faster, sharper, and more cost-efficient solutions. Expand what works and eliminate what doesn't.

• Develop infrastructure and enhance secondary markets. Identify and seize opportunities to design and create regional recovery hubs, reverse supply-chain infrastructure, and processing capabilities — including critical minerals recovery from e-waste, industrial, and post-consumer streams. Construct the commercial framework that facilitates the flow of recovered materials back into manufacturing — including feedstock aggregation, quality standards, off-take agreements, demand signaling, and attribute certification — and create coalitions that connect producers, processors, municipalities, OEMs, and end-markets into effective circular supply chains. Advance Anthesis's expertise in material and asset valorization: maximize residual value at the end of commercial use and guide clients in choosing between reuse, remanufacturing, and recovery based on real economic data.

• Drive business growth. Take ownership of revenue objectives, pipeline management, and forecasting for the portfolio — and achieve significant growth. Transition the model from purely advisory to digitally-enabled managed services, embedded operations, pilot programs, and recurring revenue. Innovate pricing strategies — value-based, outcome-linked, reflecting the tangible impact of this work. Strengthen the value proposition. Enhance profit margins.

• Foster cross-organizational collaboration. Work across Anthesis's business lines, geographic locations, and sector teams to unlock client value that wouldn’t be possible in silos. Identify adjacent opportunities: when a resource recovery discussion reveals a product design issue, regulatory requirement, or supply chain potential, connect the client with the appropriate capabilities — including those in your counterpart's portfolio. Collaborate with other Growth Portfolio Leads and senior leadership on overarching strategy, AI initiatives, and market entry tactics.

• Build and lead a high-performing team. Manage a diverse group of senior technical experts — with strong opinions and varying working styles — and unify them around a common goal without relying on hierarchical structures. Enhance the team's deep technical capabilities by incorporating commercial and emerging-tech expertise as the practice expands, ensuring every new addition raises the standard. Lead through transformation with directness, empathy, and respect — making tough decisions when necessary and ensuring team buy-in.

• Represent Anthesis at the highest level. Act as the senior external representative of Anthesis's capabilities in circular systems and resource recovery — participating in industry forums, policy discussions, coalition gatherings, and client board meetings. Cultivate trusted relationships where you are the first point of contact for major strategic decisions. Elevate discussions beyond immediate concerns and assist clients in envisioning broader possibilities.
