Growth Marketing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Optimize conversion rates through ongoing efforts.

• Implement a continuous A/B testing strategy across landing pages, paywalls, pricing pages, signup processes, and checkout flows.

• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to expedite test implementation and ensure proper instrumentation.

• Utilize heatmaps, session recordings, and funnel analytics to pinpoint friction points and prioritize testing initiatives.

• Take ownership of pre-conversion KPIs, including visitor-to-signup rates, signup-to-paid conversions, paywall conversions, and checkout completions.

• Maintain a prioritized backlog of tests linked to revenue impacts.

• Upsell System (Free to Paid)

• Develop and enhance five behavioral email sequences based on specific user signals: ghost signups, unused credits, exhausted credits, partial feature adoption, and high usage nearing limits.

• Set up trigger logic in the Email Service Provider (ESP), collaborating with engineering to ensure accurate event firing.

• Create or oversee copy for all upsell email sequences.

• Conduct ongoing A/B tests on subject lines, messaging angles, timing, and calls to action (CTAs).

• Manage upgrade conversion rates as a key performance indicator (KPI).

• Retention System (Paid User Engagement)

• Establish a user Satisfaction Score from 0 to 100, integrating usage, feature engagement, survey responses, and login behaviors.

• Define and categorize four retention segments (Champion, Engaged, At-Risk, Dormant) into tailored email sequences.

• Implement a comprehensive survey framework, including onboarding NPS, quarterly NPS, feature feedback, re-engagement, and churn surveys.

• Reassess segment thresholds on a quarterly basis.

• Take responsibility for monthly churn rates and retention KPIs.

• Email and Testing Infrastructure

• Lead the selection of an ESP (Klaviyo, Customer.io, or a similar platform).

• Manage domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and ensure deliverability.

• Collaborate with engineering to define the event tracking pipeline (Segment or an equivalent tool).

• Develop a reusable template library and workflows for list hygiene.

• Construct a consolidated performance dashboard that encompasses CRO and lifecycle KPIs.

• Acquisition Email (Collaborator, Not Owner)

• The acquisition email strategy is managed by the growth and paid marketing teams. You will provide strategic insights on sequence structure and copy, identifying opportunities for handoff between acquisition and lifecycle efforts. You will not oversee the broadcast calendar or the paid acquisition list.


⛳️ Requirements

• 4 to 6 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, retention, or marketing automation, preferably within SaaS, consumer technology, or subscription services.

• Practical experience with a modern behavioral ESP (Klaviyo, Customer.io, or a similar platform).

• Proficient in configuring complex trigger logic, beyond merely sending campaigns.

• Direct experience managing CRO programs, including hypothesis-driven testing, statistical analysis, and collaboration with design and engineering teams using tools like VWO, Optimizely, or GA experiments.

• Strong grasp of event-based trigger architecture and the ability to specify events for engineering teams.

• Capability to write on-brand copy while configuring behavioral logic; this role integrates both responsibilities.

• Proven history of enhancing conversion, retention, or upgrade rates through measurable initiatives.

• Comfortable working with data: defining segments, interpreting performance reports, and making data-driven decisions.

• Experience incorporating NPS or satisfaction surveys into marketing workflows.

• **Nice to Have**

• Experience marketing to student demographics or price-sensitive consumer segments.

• Familiarity with Segment or similar Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).

• Background in product-led growth or freemium conversion strategies.

• Experience building lifecycle and CRO infrastructure from the ground up.

• Knowledge of email verification tools and best practices for deliverability.
