This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance and strengthen engagement among CommonLit's free teacher users.
• Create advocacy playbooks, which include in-app nurturing strategies developed with Product, and conduct surveys to assess effectiveness.
• Develop content aimed at teachers and community programming, such as webinars, newsletters, blog posts, conferences, meetups, roundtables, media placements, organic social media content, and an ambassador program.
• Manage the maintenance and content schedule for the blog.
• Collaborate with Retention Marketing and Brand & Impact to utilize customer testimonials for storytelling at the top of the funnel.
• Share user insights with Sales, Support, and Product teams, and communicate these insights to the wider Marketing department.
• Work alongside the Performance Marketing Specialist to ensure a seamless transition from free-user activation to conversion.
• Monitor and report on engagement and advocacy metrics for free users, including performance from webinars, newsletters, blogs, social media, and the ambassador program.
• Analyze how traffic, sign-ups, sign-ins, and top-of-funnel engagement correlate with downstream conversion rates.
• Experiment with new content, community, and advocacy strategies, discontinuing those that are ineffective.
• Undertake additional projects as assigned by the team.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• 2-4 years of experience in content marketing, community/growth marketing, or a related field is required.
• Teaching experience in English Language Arts (ELA) is required; experience teaching grades 6-12 is preferred.
• Experience in education or a mission-driven, freemium/product-led growth environment is highly preferred.
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities, including for newsletters, blogs, and webinar content.
• Comfortable representing CommonLit as a webinar host and blog author.
• Proficient or willing to learn tools such as HubSpot, Notion, Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and similar applications.
• Experience in hosting or producing live virtual events is preferred.
• Familiarity with social media tools is preferred.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) is preferred; experience with Claude is highly preferred.
• Alignment with CommonLit's mission is essential.
• Ability to create new initiatives from scratch, such as an ambassador program.
• Curiosity regarding educator advocacy and enthusiasm for community-building efforts.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and assist with various projects.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire for constructive feedback.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strategic thinking, self-initiation, time management, and organizational skills are necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Comfort in speaking and facilitating live sessions with educators.
• Must be based in the US.
• Ability to travel to regional or state conferences; the current expectation is one 2-3 day conference per quarter.
• The role involves extended periods in a stationary position at a desk working on a computer.
