This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Take full ownership of partnership development with enterprise clients, governmental organizations, and public sector entities in Japan.
• Identify, pursue, and finalize strategic partnerships with major Japanese corporations across sectors such as technology, finance, manufacturing, retail, and beyond.
• Successfully navigate the intricate, multi-stakeholder procurement processes that are typical for Japanese enterprise and governmental accounts.
• Cultivate long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, executives, and procurement leads.
• Identify, recruit, and engage resellers, system integrators, and channel partners who can effectively distribute Replit's products throughout Japan.
• Create enablement programs, co-selling strategies, and collaborative go-to-market plans with channel partners.
• Negotiate partnership contracts, reseller agreements, and co-marketing initiatives.
• Track partner performance and refine programs to enhance channel revenue.
• Forge partnerships with Japanese universities, coding boot camps, and educational institutions to promote the adoption of Replit in educational settings.
• Collaborate with Ministries of Education and government digital transformation projects to position Replit as the leading platform for coding education.
• Develop programs that provide educational partners with substantial access to Replit's tools, curriculum materials, and credits.
• Encourage grassroots adoption among Japanese developers through community engagement, developer relations, and product-led growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with Replit's Product, Marketing, and Community teams to highlight Japan-specific use cases and advocate for localization features.
• Build and nurture a community of Replit power users and advocates within Japan.
• Represent Replit at major Japanese technology conferences, trade shows, and industry events (e.g., SusHi Tech, Japan Tech Week).
• Build and maintain a strong deal pipeline, tracking opportunities from initial prospecting through to closure.
• Report on partnership and growth metrics, ensuring that activities translate into measurable business outcomes.
• Work alongside Replit's global Partnerships team on cross-functional projects that span enterprise, education, and international expansion.
• Over 8 years of experience in partnerships, business development, enterprise sales, or growth, preferably within a technology or SaaS setting.
• Native or business-level fluency in Japanese, along with a deep understanding of Japan's cultural and business landscape.
• Demonstrated success in sourcing, structuring, and finalizing enterprise or government partnerships in Japan.
• Experience working with or selling to Japanese public sector institutions, large corporations, or through channel/reseller networks.
• Excellent communication skills, able to tailor messaging for technical developers, non-technical operators, C-suite executives, and government stakeholders alike.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach; comfortable with uncertainty and eager to establish market presence from scratch.
• Data-driven mindset — you focus on what matters and use insights to adapt quickly.
• A genuine passion for the evolution of software creation and making software building accessible to all.
• Bonus Qualifications:
• - Experience in developer tools, coding education, SaaS platforms, or digital transformation consulting.
• - Established relationships with enterprise, government, or channel partners in Japan that you can leverage in this role.
• - Experience in managing or scaling partner programs, including reseller programs with tiered incentives.
• - Familiarity with Japanese government digital initiatives such as DX (Digital Transformation) mandates or e-Gov platforms.
• - Business-level proficiency in English for collaboration with Replit's global team.
