This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.
• Engage, qualify, and progress group sales opportunities, including inquiries for five or more rooms at a single hotel.
• Convert qualified leads into contracted business.
• Comprehend client objectives, preferences, budgets, and group requirements to suggest appropriate solutions.
• Prepare precise and professional client presentations and proposals.
• Assist Travel Advisors and clients with destination wedding packages, hotel room blocks, and other group travel requirements.
• Collaborate with Group Management on proposal and contract negotiations.
• Facilitate negotiations and communications with hotels and various travel suppliers.
• Oversee client correspondence and follow-up from the initial qualification through to the signed contract and required deposit.
• Ensure that contracted groups are seamlessly transitioned to Group Coordinators following contract signature and deposit receipt.
• Cultivate relationships with agency owners, Travel Advisors, and key account stakeholders.
• Deliver responsive, knowledgeable, and high-touch service throughout the sales process.
• Support assigned agency accounts and strategic business initiatives.
• Enter and maintain group booking information in group management systems, CRM platforms, and other business tools.
• Ensure accuracy across bookings, proposals, contracts, correspondence, and related sales activities.
• Identify system discrepancies, booking inconsistencies, and process gaps, and recommend solutions.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and sales expertise to team members.
• Reinforce department standards, expectations, ownership, follow-through, and accountability.
• Collaborate with the Director, Groups, Group Coordinators, Reservations, and cross-functional partners.
• Identify process improvements and optimize workloads and interdepartmental operations.
• Manage projects and additional initiatives assigned by Group leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in sales, travel, group travel, hospitality, or a comparable customer-facing environment.
• Proven experience qualifying opportunities, managing a sales pipeline, and advancing prospective business through the sales cycle.
• Experience in supporting group travel, hotel room blocks, destination weddings, or other complex travel arrangements is strongly preferred.
• Background in negotiating with hotels, airlines, or other travel suppliers preferred.
• Prior experience in team leadership, coaching, training, or supervisory support preferred.
• Strong understanding of consultative sales, client relationship management, negotiation, and follow-up practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, internet-based tools, and business productivity applications.
• Experience with CRM, group management, reservation, or similar sales and booking systems preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate booking and client information across multiple systems and workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.
