Group Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on commercial, contractual, and data protection issues, assisting central procurement, IT, Finance, and People & Culture teams, as well as client-facing teams in ‘Hubs’.

• Supervise the legal and data protection elements of outsourcing and offshoring agreements.

• Offer legal counsel regarding group projects and initiatives, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and resources, including ‘Playbooks’ and guides that outline internal requirements and positions.

• Contribute legal insights into policies, frameworks, and control mechanisms.

• Manage disputes and contentious issues in collaboration with external counsel.

• Assist with legal workstreams related to M&A integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor authorized to practice in England & Wales or Scotland, with approximately 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law.

• Proficient in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including master services/framework agreements with clients, terms of business, engagement letters, etc.

• Experienced in reviewing and negotiating procurement contracts, particularly in the IT sector.

• Familiarity with advising on AI/technology and data protection-related legal issues is preferred.

• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and commercial advisory capabilities.

• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to align legal advice with business objectives.

• Effective communicator, capable of simplifying complex legal concepts for non-legal professionals.

• Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and proficiency in written English.
