This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee income, contract, donor, and grant accounts, which includes managing deposits, account balances, and authorization of expenses.
• Act as the main point of contact for post-award matters such as reimbursements, purchases, invoice payments, staffing, consulting payments, subcontracts, budget analysis, and financial planning.
• Monitor budgets, actual expenditures, and projections utilizing the internal forecasting model.
• Examine and reconcile monthly accounts against actual expenditures.
• Maintain master reconciliation workbooks along with centralized post-award documentation.
• Oversee account closeout procedures and related checklists.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators and staff from Research Administration and Finance regarding budget matters.
• Create and distribute financial reports.
• Liaise with contacts from departmental, hospital, university, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and external organizations.
• Develop and oversee annual budgets for divisions, Pediatric Research Services, and Principal Investigators.
• Manage payroll details and centralized personnel records.
• Partner with Principal Investigators in the hiring process for employees.
• Provide orientation and guidance to faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows regarding financial policies and procedures.
• Support pre-award activities, including the creation of budgets.
• Attend meetings related to research administration, departmental activities, and research leadership.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety regulations, infection control standards, and RAF policies and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field along with 3+ years of experience.
• A suitable mix of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be taken into account.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, grant administration, and/or budget management is required.
• Experience in healthcare or non-profit sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and non-federal grants.
• Understanding of grants administration policies and practices.
• Capability to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment.
• Proficiency in anticipating objections, planning responses, performing effectively under pressure, and resolving issues.
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and external contacts.
• Committed team player eager to learn and share knowledge with staff.
• Completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
