Finance & Controlling Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Establish controlling: create a KPI scorecard and a centralized source of truth, track ongoing run rates, manage budget planning, and maintain a rolling forecast with various scenarios.

• KPI oversight: design a dashboard featuring pertinent metrics (CAC, MER, advertising cost ratio, contribution margin after advertising).

• Cash flow management: implement a rolling 13-week cash plan and strategize pre-financing for international production.

• Assortment & margins analysis: identify high-demand and slow-moving inventory, calculate product bundles, and ascertain contribution margins per item and variant.

• Purchasing & supply chain management: supervise ERP purchasing, evaluate new product costs (including landed cost, duties, MOQ), renegotiate supplier agreements, and prepare make-or-buy and investment assessments.

• Cost & partner evaluation: assess payment terms and service providers using financial data.

• Lead special initiatives: provide commercial support for international production, new product lines, and investment strategies.

• Report directly to Executive Management and serve as the main point of contact for commercial and financial inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or commercial training in business administration, finance, or controlling, or a similar qualification.

• Robust experience in controlling or finance, preferably within e-commerce or retail dealing with physical products.

• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and a BI tool (such as Power BI or Looker Studio).

• Familiarity with forecasting, liquidity planning, contribution margin/margin accounting, and inventory data management.

• Capable of independently managing commercial and financial projects.

• Fluent in German; proficiency in English is an advantage.

• A hands-on approach, pragmatic mindset, and a strong commitment to completing tasks.
