This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide direct assistance to the Grants Division to ensure the timely awarding of grants throughout the agency in alignment with the federal health mission.
• Successfully prepare and deliver compliant pre- and post-award documentation and grant documents in accordance with federal and DoD grant principles, including 2 CFR 200, DoD Grants and Agreement Regulations (DoDGARS), DoD Directives and Instructions, as well as relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Aid in the execution of grant award activities, which include gathering responsibility information, drafting award notices, distributing grants, and handling requests for debriefing.
• Assist in assessing grant proposals based on applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and evaluation criteria.
• Review the requirements for new or follow-on grants and pinpoint potential issues to ensure a clear mutual understanding of grant requirements.
• Present, analyze, and validate data, techniques, methodologies, and formats related to grants management activities.
• Facilitate communication among project team members, stakeholders, and leadership; manage correspondence and oversee task completion to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant federal and agency standards, policies, and procedures.
• Observe and uphold appropriate military and government protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience as a federal government and/or contractor employee in a grants management specialist, grants analyst, or grants policy analyst role (GS-1102, GS-1109, or equivalent).
• Extensive knowledge or understanding of federal and DoD grant principles, including 2 CFR 200 and Department of Defense Grants and Agreement Regulations (DoDGARS), DoD Directives and Instructions, relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Knowledge or understanding of cost principles for determining cost reasonableness, allowability, and allocability.
• Knowledge or understanding of fact-finding, problem analysis, and resolution of complex issues, along with the ability to develop concrete action plans.
• Familiarity with budget and/or federal cost principles.
• Familiarity with federal grant/contract writing systems.
• Proficiency in SharePoint and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Previous experience with DoD, Military, or federal defense health agencies as a Grants Specialist or Contract Analyst (preferred).
• Experience in the GS-1102 or GS-1109 series (preferred).
