This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.
• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the government solutions sector, particularly targeting higher education clients such as public colleges, universities, and related institutions.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle for an assigned territory, encompassing opportunity identification, response to requests for proposal (RFP), and contract negotiation until final signature.
• Design and implement a territory plan focusing on prioritized target accounts, pipeline enhancement, revenue generation, and quantifiable sales activities.
• Conduct consultative engagements with clients by determining business objectives, procurement needs, and payment requirements, subsequently aligning Fiserv solutions to these needs.
• Develop and deliver compelling business cases, pricing proposals, and financial justification documents that effectively address client concerns while promoting revenue and margin objectives.
• Cultivate and nurture senior-level client relationships, including chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), chief operating officer (COO), and other finance, procurement, and operational stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams—sales, solution consulting, proposal, implementation, and product—to successfully position enterprise payment processing and eCommerce solutions.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in selling solutions to higher education clients, including expertise in navigating formal procurement and RFP processes.
• At least 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or relationship management focusing on prospecting, pipeline development, and closing new business deals.
• Proven track record of building relationships with executive stakeholders, including chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), chief operating officer (COO), or other senior decision-makers, utilizing a consultative and solution-oriented sales approach.
• Proficient in using Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management system for tracking pipelines, forecasting, and sales reporting.
• A bachelor's degree or a suitable combination of education, relevant experience, and/or military service.
• Experience in selling payment processing, eCommerce, software, or consulting solutions within the acquiring or payments sector is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with supporting higher education use cases, including tuition payments, student financial operations, campus commerce, or institutional billing processes.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization alongside cross-functional stakeholders.
• Understanding of public sector purchasing cycles, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements.
