Government Relations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee, evaluate, and monitor legislative and regulatory developments within designated markets to pinpoint business risks and opportunities.

• Establish and sustain productive relationships with policymakers, agency personnel, legislative aides, and third-party advocates.

• Compose impactful position papers, testimonies, comment letters, and internal policy documents.

• Assist in coordinating external lobbyists and advocacy consultants within designated jurisdictions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert policy changes into actionable business strategies.

• Represent UZURV in stakeholder meetings, coalition gatherings, and public forums.

• Contribute to internal reports regarding legislative status, hearing schedules, and advocacy progress.

• Leverage AI tools to enhance research, drafting, and workflow efficiency in line with team standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of combined experience in government relations, regulatory agencies, or public policy positions.

• Proven capability to research and analyze statutes and regulations with meticulous attention to detail.

• Demonstrated experience with the legislative process and managing relationships with external lobbyists.

• Strong ability to translate complex policy implications into clear guidance for business stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills with experience representing the organization to policymakers and government contacts.

• Proven success in fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders to advance organizational goals.

• Strong organizational skills for managing and progressing multiple policy initiatives concurrently.

• A strategic mindset with the capacity to identify policy-related opportunities in rapidly evolving markets.
