This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop AWS GovCloud infrastructure, establishing core architecture, ensuring security compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA), implementing network security, and managing platform operations across development, pre-production, and production environments.
• Set up PostgreSQL database infrastructure in GovCloud, encompassing configuration, performance optimization frameworks, backup/recovery architecture, replication strategies, high availability setups, and security hardening standards.
• Create and implement infrastructure-as-code from scratch using Chef, generating cookbooks, recipes, and automation frameworks for server provisioning, configuration management, and repeatable deployments.
• Integrate application access controls and identity management systems with Google SAML integration for secure authentication purposes.
• Deploy and configure Business Intelligence infrastructure in GovCloud, which includes installation, architecture design, performance optimization, user management frameworks, and integration of authentication systems.
• Design and implement multi-environment infrastructure adhering to AWS best practices for network segmentation, security boundaries, environment isolation, and promotion workflows.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability systems for infrastructure and data pipelines, including runbooks, operational standards, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Oversee, triage, and resolve incidents related to data pipelines and infrastructure, including ETL/ELT failures, database performance issues, and access challenges.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and data engineering teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with government security standards and compliance frameworks.
• Partner with DevOps and data engineering teams to establish CI/CD pipelines, orchestrate data pipelines, create automated testing frameworks, and enable infrastructure deployment automation using Chef and AWS native tools.
• Leverage AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, with a minimum of 3+ years of practical AWS experience.
• Demonstrated experience in building cloud infrastructure from the ground up, showcasing the ability to lead greenfield projects from design to production deployment.
• Strong administration skills in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, replication, backup/recovery, security configuration, and high availability setup.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL administration for validating data pipelines, optimizing queries, troubleshooting data issues, and assessing ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong Python programming abilities for automation, monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting, and operational scripting.
• Proven hands-on experience with Chef for infrastructure-as-code, including creating and maintaining cookbooks, recipes, roles, and environments in greenfield deployments.
• Experience in configuring enterprise identity and access management, particularly Google SAML integration and SSO implementations.
• Proven experience managing Tableau Server or other BI applications, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and user management.
• Strong grasp of multi-environment infrastructure design, including network architecture, security boundaries, and deployment automation from initial design to implementation.
• Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Ruby) for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Nagios, etc.).
• Familiarity with configuration management, CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab), and version control systems (Git).
• Robust understanding of network security, firewall management, VPC configuration, and secure architecture patterns.
• Self-motivated individual capable of independently managing greenfield projects, making architectural decisions, and driving projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work alongside cross-functional teams including security, compliance, and engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field; or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience employing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Eligibility for security clearance or ability to obtain government security clearance.
