This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of AI-generated coding interactions from start to finish.
• Assess the utility, correctness at a high level, and alignment with sound engineering principles.
• Evaluate the quality of reasoning and explanations, beyond just the code itself.
• Differentiate between varying levels of response quality.
• Deliver clear, constructive feedback regarding what was effective, what fell short, and what seemed misleading.
• Assist in defining excellence in interactions with tools like Cursor.
• Make informed yet subjective assessments of AI coding-agent interactions.
• Extensive experience as a software engineer (SR+) / Staff or Principal-level engineer (or comparable experience).
• Strong expertise in TypeScript / JavaScript or Python.
• Practical experience utilizing OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
• Profound understanding of contemporary AI-assisted development workflows.
• Capable of evaluating code without needing to execute or thoroughly review every single line.
• Comfortable providing direct, opinionated feedback.
• High standards for what constitutes “good engineering.”
• Nice to have: experience with Cursor or similar AI-centric IDEs.
• Nice to have: previous involvement in prompt design or evaluation processes.
• Nice to have: experience mentoring senior engineers or establishing engineering standards.
• Completion of a take-home evaluation exercise and one behavioral interview is required.
• Agreement to a straightforward background check for this project is necessary.
• Compensation of $100–$200/hour.
• Approximately 10–20 hours per week.
• Potential for extension beyond early May.
