This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the design, analysis, and validation of guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and architecture.
• Review and provide direction on flight software design to enhance system performance, reliability, and usability.
• Assess system behavior throughout all mission phases (e.g., ascent, on-orbit, entry, proximity operations).
• Create and implement operational concepts for GNC systems in mission or testing scenarios.
• Oversee vehicle performance and provide timely recommendations during dynamic operations.
• Aid in anomaly resolution, develop fault response strategies, and facilitate contingency planning.
• Establish system and console requirements for monitoring and controlling GNC subsystems.
• Design operator displays, telemetry utilization strategies, and command interfaces.
• Keep flight rules, procedures, and operational documentation up to date.
• Support system-level testing across integrated labs, simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Engage in the verification of telemetry, command pathways, and system responses.
• Contribute to the development and validation of contingency commanding capabilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred) along with 10+ years of experience.
• A solid foundation in:
• Orbital mechanics / astrodynamics.
• Control systems and state estimation.
• Guidance algorithms and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience in:
• Flight software or embedded systems.
• Real-time or near-real-time operational environments.
• Telemetry analysis and command/response systems.
• Proven ability to:
• Function effectively under pressure and make prompt, sound decisions.
• Articulate complex technical issues clearly and succinctly.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be a U.S Citizen.
• TS/SCI Clearance.
