This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
β’ Engage with an international vendor network to gather preliminary cost estimates for new product concepts.
β’ Provide quotations for larger, multi-style projects, ensuring that all specific customer requirements and compliance standards are incorporated into the pricing.
β’ Develop and analyze initial Profit & Loss (P&L) models to evaluate gross margin feasibility for proposed projects.
β’ Negotiate initial pricing to guarantee that target margins are attainable before presenting to internal teams.
β’ Pose strategic, qualifying questions to both new and existing factories to evaluate their capabilities, capacity, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead times.
β’ Maintain consistent daily communication with overseas factories, effectively navigating time zone differences and cultural nuances.
β’ Oversee the request, tracking, and follow-up of initial development samples.
β’ Ensure that factories comprehend design intent and technical specifications to guarantee that first-round samples are accurate and delivered punctually.
β’ Identify and flag any potential production or cost issues that arise during the sampling phase.
β’ Assist in developing initial timelines and action (T&A) calendars for new projects, outlining milestones from sample development through to final production.
β’ Communicate clearly and proactively with Sales and Product Development teams, presenting realistic timelines, finalized P&Ls, and margin expectations.
β’ Experience: Minimum of 3 years in global sourcing, product development, costing, or production management.
β’ Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in working with apparel, soft goods, textiles, or home accessories is strongly preferred.
β’ Global Exposure: Demonstrated ability to communicate directly with factories in Asia (China, Pakistan, India) and/or South America.
β’ Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of product costing, freight estimates, margins, and P&L statements.
β’ Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the capability to create and manage intricate Time & Action (T&A) calendars across multiple styles simultaneously.
β’ Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas for financial modeling) and PLM/ERP systems.
β’ Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to clarify complex manufacturing realities into straightforward business updates for Sales and PD teams.
β’ Problem-Solving: Proactive and analytical mindset with the capacity to anticipate production bottlenecks and propose effective workarounds.
β’ Environment: Collaborate directly with a rapidly growing New York-based merchandise and production company alongside talented operations and e-commerce teams.
β’ Type: Full-time remote position available immediately upon finding the right candidate.
β’ Shift: Must be accessible during Eastern Standard Time/NY (EST) business hours.
