Global Onsite Lab Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, analyze, and develop financial models and proposals for both new and existing onsite laboratories.

• Collaborate with clients and SGS regional and country personnel to discuss requirements, costs, and timelines.

• Coordinate with operating affiliates to plan and schedule the construction and startup of new onsite laboratories.

• Assess onsite laboratory opportunities leveraging data gathered from regional teams.

• Secure technical and operational approvals from Team and Regional Management.

• Prepare or provide assistance with technical proposals and tender submissions.

• Engage with clients to identify opportunities, verify RFP details, and negotiate to secure projects for SGS.

• Organize and monitor the design, construction, renovation, and expansion of new onsite laboratories in partnership with local operating teams.

• Verify and oversee the purchasing of laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with global standards and timely project execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in a Science or Engineering discipline, with a strong preference for Geosciences.

• Technical experience in a geosciences-related field, combined with some business and personnel management exposure.

• Comprehensive understanding of the mining and minerals sector.

• Demonstrated time management abilities and a keen attention to detail.

• Capacity to perform effectively under pressure.

• Willingness to work extended and/or irregular hours due to global team collaboration.

• Strong ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively without supervision.

• Proven ability to lead and manage a team.

• Demonstrated capacity to oversee and coordinate multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly professional setting.

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including proficiency in grammar and composition.

• Knowledge of additional languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic is a plus.
