
Global Category Manager – Logistics, Warehousing & Transportation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Develop and execute category strategies for logistics, warehousing, and transportation services, which involve identifying needs, project planning, gathering internal and external data, conducting strategic analysis, spotting opportunities, formulating procurement strategies, and creating implementation plans.
• Assemble, lead, and facilitate cross-functional teams as necessary to carry out the procurement process and plans; facilitate supplier selection and decision-making; oversee the contract development, negotiation, and execution process.
• Create should-cost models and benchmark rates across various carriers and logistics providers.
• Oversee strategy alignment, ensure long-term supply security, evaluate supplier performance, and establish a preferred supplier base.
• Guarantee optimal supplier pricing, responsiveness, quality, and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Formulate appropriate risk management strategies that anticipate and address a wide range of risk scenarios to ensure the fulfillment of ICU Medical’s requirements.
• Keep abreast of industry intelligence regarding technology trends, sourcing options, and competitive pricing.
• Assess and report on commodity performance objectives, keep tabs on supplier performance, conduct periodic business reviews, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
• Review, negotiate, and manage Supplier Agreements along with associated documentation.
• Benchmark prices and pricing information to ensure the company secures the most cost-effective, highest quality products.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the sourcing process.
• Collaborate with other functions and involved stakeholders to ensure timely implementation and adherence to the established sourcing strategies.
• Undertake special assignments as they arise.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) is required; a Master of Science or MBA is preferred.
• 8-10 years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
• Experience in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment is required.
• Commercial experience in indirect sourcing and/or facility services sourcing is essential.
• Commercial experience in an outsourcing environment is a must.
• Proven experience in negotiating commercial contract terms and collaborating with Legal business partners.
• Experience in negotiating and managing high-value contracts is required.
• Management of large spend portfolios sourced on a global scale is necessary.
• Experience in managing multi-functional, cross-site teams is essential.
• Demonstrated capability to coordinate cross-site activities, benchmarking, periodic meetings, and training as needed.
• Proven ability to successfully implement change within a center-led management model.
• Experience with large ERP systems; Oracle is preferred.
• Project management experience is essential.
• This position is remote; the incumbent may work remotely from any state except Colorado, California, Connecticut, Montana, Maine, or New York.
