
GIS Mapping Analyst – Oil & Gas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, modify, and uphold comprehensive GIS maps for oil & gas initiatives, encompassing lease boundaries, unit outlines, well locations, and ownership layers.
• Evaluate spatial data to facilitate land, title, and due diligence processes.
• Consolidate and reconcile data from various sources, including courthouse records, survey data, shapefiles, and land systems.
• Collaborate closely with Landmen, Lease Analysts, and Division Order teams to ensure that mapping aligns with ownership and title information.
• Detect and rectify inconsistencies between mapped data and legal descriptions.
• Assist in acquisition and divestiture endeavors through GIS mapping and data verification.
• Maintain GIS databases, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data.
• Generate high-quality visual maps and reports for internal teams and clients.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of GIS workflows and mapping standards.
• A minimum of 3 years of GIS experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong expertise in ArcGIS (ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro).
• Proven experience with shapefiles, geodatabases, and spatial data management.
• Solid grasp of PLSS, metes and bounds, and legal land descriptions.
• Experience in mapping lease boundaries, units, wells, and ownership information.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage extensive datasets accurately.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management.
