GIS – DT Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Ensure the safe and effective installation, supervision, and handover of Gas Insulated Switchgears.

• Engage in hands-on installation tasks while leading primary and secondary GIS installation for GE Vernova projects.

• Interpret and comprehend technical drawings; able to follow and modify standard work procedures for Gas Insulated Switchgear installation.

• Oversee manpower, equipment, and tools on the construction site.

• Demonstrate proficiency in the operation and use of tools and equipment (electrical, mechanical, and testing).

• Adhere to company values and internal EHS regulations.

• Facilitate the handover of the installed Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) to the client.

• Maintain communication with GE Vernova’s Project Manager, Quality Department, Technical Support team, Client, and Contractor throughout the installation process.

• Provide weekly updates to the site coordinator and project manager regarding progress and status.

• Offer support for Dead Tank Circuit Breakers and other GE Vernova products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in electro mechanics or equivalent technical training.

• Preferred experience in installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical assemblies and electrical control circuits.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing (with a preference for field experience).

• Willingness and flexibility to work at remote sites (domestically and internationally as needed) under challenging weather conditions.

• Strong negotiation and leadership skills.

• Proficiency in English.
