GIS Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess Government-provided inventory items and verify them against the NAVCEN Port Status application and Harmonized Waterways Dataset Explorer.

• Recognize related features, relevant identifiers, standardized and alternative names, responsible COTP, available geometry, source lineage, and data inconsistencies.

• Create and maintain source crosswalk data.

• Assist with the decision register.

• Execute the approved data schema.

• Generate and validate polygons.

• Conduct topology checks.

• Document metadata.

• Aid in the delivery of incremental production packages.

• Resolve issues related to geometry and attribution.

• Identify discrepancies that need Government adjudication.

• Support both automated and manual validation processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of professional GIS experience.

• Experience in polygon production, geodatabase design, attribute-schema implementation, topology validation, metadata development, and source lineage documentation.

• Proficiency with Esri geospatial tools or equivalent platforms.

• Preferred experience with maritime, hydrographic, transportation, infrastructure, emergency management, or authoritative Government geospatial datasets.

• Detail-oriented and methodical, with the ability to apply consistent geospatial production standards across a large national dataset.

• Must have strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Successful completion of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screening.

• Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy.

• Must be authorized to work in the US or must be authorized by the start date of the successful candidate.
