General Surgeon – MSRT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in acute care surgery within challenging and resource-limited environments.

• Collaborate with a small team to conduct examinations, establish diagnoses, and provide treatment or surgical options, including damage control surgery.

• Offer consultation and expertise as the surgical specialist.

• Execute necessary surgical procedures.

• Oversee direct patient care, incorporating surgical critical care and damage control surgical interventions.

• Manage nursing and support staff during resuscitation, perioperative, and post-operative care phases.

• Record the care provided and maintain medical documentation in accordance with VIGILINT policies.

• Plan and potentially lead Critical Care Air Transport missions for ICU-level patients.

• Operate in a leadership capacity based on qualifications and experience.

• Fulfill special staff responsibilities as needed.

• Provide medical training and instruction upon request.

• Assist with Mobile Surgical Resuscitation Team operations.

• Be available for at least one approximately 60-day OCONUS rotation annually, along with additional training and screening events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active SECRET or higher security clearance.

• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States or U.S. Territory.

• Current Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.

• Continuous civilian practice to maintain clinical competency during non-deployed periods.

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a staff or attending Surgeon in a high volume/high acuity or critical access environment.

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. medical or osteopathic school.

• At least eight (8) years of experience as a Surgeon.

• A minimum of five (5) years of U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experience.

• Recent U.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment in the last 3 years in an austere environment and combat-like conditions.

• Experience must include deployment in austere and combat-like settings in Role 1, 2, or 3 facilities.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Current ACLS, PALS, & BLS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

• Unrestricted DEA license.

• Valid United States Passport that will not expire within one year of employment.

• Capability to lift 150 pounds with assistance; carry 80 pounds over a distance of 30 feet and push/pull over 200 pounds.

• Must meet the anthropometric standards of the assigned platform.

• Must be a legal resident of one of the 50 U.S. states; residency in a U.S. territory does not satisfy this requirement.

• Qualified candidates may be invited to participate in an in-person assessment process.
