This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the revenue target and commercial timeline, transforming the pipeline into finalized, invoiced projects.
• Create and lead the commercial team, including the recruitment and development of a Business Development Manager.
• Establish a repeatable sales process featuring weekly pipeline assessments and monthly forecasts.
• Cultivate aviation, government, and institutional sectors.
• Utilize shared resources, explore cross-selling opportunities, refine pricing strategies, and collaborate on major business development initiatives with the 617 Collective leadership.
• Act as the senior relationship manager for key accounts while safeguarding and enhancing recurring revenue.
• Initiate renewal planning and manage project scopes.
• Ensure client satisfaction and address delivery challenges.
• Maintain delivery quality, timely performance, studio utilization, project accountability, and operational processes.
• Enhance estimating, scoping, and time tracking to oversee project profitability.
• Manage the P&L and operating budget, overseeing gross margin and profitability goals.
• Achieve EBITDA and gross margin outcomes in line with Board-approved objectives.
• Oversee cash flow, collections, vendor agreements, and a rolling 13-week cash forecast.
• Lead, mentor, and stabilize a small senior team.
• Evaluate the organizational structure and develop capabilities essential for growth.
• Uphold company culture and creative standards.
• Provide monthly management reports to the Board and weekly cash-and-pipeline updates to the 617 Collective.
• Operate within assigned authority and escalate reserved matters to the Board.
• A minimum of eight years in agency, professional services, or marketing services.
• At least three years of P&L or general management experience.
• Proven ability to personally generate, pitch, and secure new business.
• Capability to establish a sales function.
• A history of client retention and account growth in a relationship-oriented service industry.
• Operational discipline in budgeting, forecasting, utilization, project profitability, and cash management.
• Experience in leading small teams as a practitioner-leader.
• Proven ability to drive organizational change while sustaining team engagement and client trust.
• Strong, direct communication skills and comfort reporting to a board led by owners.
• Preferred: experience with aviation, municipal, public-sector, or institutional clients and their procurement processes.
• Preferred: a background encompassing brand strategy, design, and digital delivery.
• Preferred: previous turnaround, restart, or early-stage experience in a small business.
• Preferred: experience in building relationships within regional or relationship-driven markets.
