This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Design, model, and create a comprehensive GCP data ecosystem for a client utilizing Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.
• Collect, analyze, model, and document both business and technical requirements.
• Maintain direct communication with clients.
• Model data from diverse sources and technologies.
• Troubleshoot and provide support for complex, high-impact issues while delivering new features and functionalities.
• Design and optimize data storage architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed file systems.
• Implement strategies for partitioning, compression, indexing, query tuning, and caching to enhance data storage and retrieval.
• Identify and resolve issues related to data processing, storage, and infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Train and mentor less experienced data engineers.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with GCP cloud-based infrastructures and systems.
• Profound knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services.
• Extensive experience in designing, building, and deploying cloud data pipelines that ingest data from databases, APIs, or streaming platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, BigQuery, NoSQL, Python, and other scripting languages.
• Skilled in data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with at least one orchestration and scheduling tool; Airflow is mandatory.
• Experience with ETL and ELT data integration methodologies.
• Knowledge of contemporary data transformation tools such as DBT and Dataform.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Capability to participate in or lead client discussions to identify areas for improvement.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and solutions.
• Experience in multinational environments and distributed teams.
• Certifications in big data technologies or cloud platforms are preferred.
• Experience with BI solutions such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
• Experience with Talend or Alteryx is preferred.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, or Azure is preferred.
