Functional Safety Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage with customers through Face-to-Face or Virtual interactions to collect information regarding hazards associated with industrial machines.

• Create and present essential safety offerings in alignment with industry and internal standards for our clients, which include, but are not limited to: Lockout Tagout audits and procedures.

• Conduct Risk Assessments.

• Develop Safety Requirement Specifications.

• Execute Safety System Engineering.

• Perform Safety Function Verification.

• Carry out Stop Time Measurements / Calculations.

• Conduct Safety System Validations.

• Achieve project milestones, or escalate as necessary to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within scope/budget.

• Facilitate customer meetings as a subject matter expert.

• Utilize safety service delivery processes, methodologies, and tools to complete tasks punctually and within budget.

• Capable of assisting the sales channel in identifying and qualifying machine safety projects.

• Travel as required by the role, typically from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Possess or be in the process of obtaining a TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial controls or machine safety.

• Background in industrial safety, including risk assessment delivery and system design.

• Familiarity with OSHA and industrial safety standards (ISO, ANSI, etc.).

• Understanding of the Safety Lifecycle and capability to perform safety assessments independently, typically without team assistance.

• Knowledge of ISO 13849, ISO 12100, ANSI B11, ANSI Z244.1, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, OSHA CFR 1910.147, and OSHA CFR 1910 subpart O.

• Experience in industrial controls, including design and troubleshooting.

• Proven track record in project management.
